A Literacy Engagement Platform · Powered by SEL

One Program. Every Classroom.
Ready to Teach.

EmpowerLit brings writing instruction, SEL, and student voice together through one connected K–12 program—ready to teach every week.

Ready. Set. Teach. Every lesson comes fully prepared, so teachers and substitutes can open it and start teaching right away.

Schools don’t need another set of lesson plans.

Schools are being asked to strengthen writing, support student well-being, build school culture, and reduce the burden on teachers—all at the same time.

EmpowerLit brings those priorities together into one connected system.

How EmpowerLit works

One Theme. Four Weeks. K–12.

Monthly Theme

The whole school explores one shared theme each month.

Weekly Lessons

Each week builds literacy and writing skills through a purposeful progression.

Grade Bands

K–2, Grades 3–5, Grades 6–8, and Grades 9–12 receive developmentally appropriate instruction.

Student Voice

Students write, discuss, reflect, and have opportunities to publish authentic work.

For School Leaders

Built for the People Leading the Work

For Principals

Give teachers something they can actually use—ready-to-teach lessons that bring writing, SEL, and school culture together while creating consistency across classrooms.

For Curriculum Leaders

Bring a consistent K–12 approach to writing and SEL, with developmentally appropriate instruction, clear weekly progression, and a shared schoolwide theme.

The EmpowerLit system

One Platform. One Connected Schoolwide Experience.

SEL is the Foundation

Students develop belonging, confidence, resilience, empathy, leadership, and character through meaningful weekly experiences.

Literacy is the Vehicle

Students build writing skills through meaningful reading, discussion, reflection, and authentic writing connected to their lives.

Authentic Student Publishing

Students don't simply complete assignments. Through Your Story Matters, their writing can reach a real audience—giving students a meaningful reason to write.

Schoolwide Implementation

Every classroom moves through one connected monthly theme, creating consistency across the entire school.

The student experience

Students don’t just complete writing assignments.

They write. They discuss. They reflect. They collaborate. They publish stories that matter.

Your Story Matters

Every student has a story worth telling.

Writing becomes meaningful when students know their words can reach a real audience. Through Your Story Matters, students have opportunities to submit authentic writing for publication, celebrate their voices, and see themselves as writers. Selected student work is featured in the public Your Story Matters Magazine.

Start Every School Day With Purpose

Daily Sparks are five-minute literacy and SEL activities that help students think, write, and connect—every school day. Each grade band receives developmentally appropriate Daily Sparks designed for its students.

You belong just by being you.

Draw or write about someone who makes you feel loved.

A new grade-appropriate Daily Spark is included every school day as part of EmpowerLit Schools.
